Desert people don't count the year in months alone. They count it in stars: twenty-eight of them, thirteen days each, gathered into seasons everyone who goes out knows by heart. When Suhail rises the nights cool, with Al-Wasm the land turns green, and in Al-Murabbaniya the fireside nights grow long.
Barr runs on this calendar. Every season has a collection, and every collection tells its season. No sales, no shopping seasons: only the seasons of the desert.
